Kip S. Thorne – Geometrodynamics: The Nonlinear Dynamics of Curved Spacetime

American physicist Kip S. Thorne, the Nobel laureate for the detection of gravitational waves visited Prague in May 2019. He was the guest of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University. Thorne gave three lectures during his Prague stay. Here is a video record of the second lecture from May 16th 2019 from hall M1 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Ke Karlovu 3, Prague 2.

Kip S. Thorne
Professor emeritus at the California Institute of Technology, the world‘s leading expert on Einstein‘s general theory of relativity and its astrophysics a implications, the Nobel laureate – with R. Weiss and B. Barish – in 2017 for “decisive contributions to the LIGO detector and the observation of gravitational waves“ and the executive producer for the film Interstellar.
